Rocket girl

She told me she was going to catch the moon
She promised me she would
She said one day she would have a hand full of stars
I asked”where do you even start? “
She said “right here, right on this spot”
She closed her eyes and whispered three words
So she took off into the sky, I stayed on the ground
She sang out her heart, what a beautiful sound
/
A pocket full of stars, a chunk of the moon
She’s gone off to space, she won’t be back soon

Death is an aphrodisiac

Absence comes with one hell of an endorphin pack
Death is sometimes the best aphrodisiac
They only love you when you’re gone
They never show it at your dawn

Like you live a hollow life
But an ovation at death
They only see you in the night
And only feel your very last breath

Sometimes you wait till you wave goodbye
For people to see that you’re one hell of a guy
Sometimes you have to fall from the sky
For them to realise that you could fly

Delicate: Butterfly

They say the flap of a butterfly’s wings
Can cause a tsunami on the other end of the world
So I guess the flutter of your eyelids
Could cause the end of the world
You hanging on a balance, I see it in your eyes
Trying to take a chance between the truth and a lie
Be careful what you say, I’m watching you close
Spare me the tears, let’s cut to the chase
Let those words free, don’t you let them die
Just flutter those lids and fly butterfly fly
