Sounds for the lost

What did the music do to you that night?
I heard it pulled you out of the rabbit hole
And placed you in a heart of a swarm of fire flies
I heard God sent the music to come for your soul
I’m just glad you got lost in the crowd and flashing lights
I guess up was the only logical way to go
What really happened? I want to hear you say it with that smile
How envious am I to see someone who’s found their flow
From the core of the moon
It came down to find you
Atoms streaming through your eyes
Erupting in your mind as melodic lights

Keep that moment dearly
Don’t you dare forget
You’ll never be broken again

Worthy

In hopes of finding the secret
We ventured into the pits
Where all men have returned
But no man has remembered
All coming out, changed and enlightened
But struck by peculiar cases of amnesia

But first….

We waited, waited for days at the foot of the pit
First stand, then kneel, sit, sleep and wake up to sit
And just before we saw the sun again
The sweetest of voices uttered our names
And then deemed us unworthy of its treasures
Shut the pit before the end of the darkness
But if you ask any other being what they heard from us
They’ll tell you the same story as the ones before us

It makes me wonder
Was anyone ever worthy?

On the verge

Don’t these people know I’m about to change the world
Don’t they know that they’re about to fall in love
With me, I’m going to be their one and only
The one they wish I was their only company
I want it all, I want it all, I want their souls
To be captured in my art like prison walls
The desperate beauty of all they feel
In the comfortable embrace of the force field
Of my imagination, of my mind
I’ll set you free when you leave my sight
